Where can I find a copy of the policy?
You can access your travel insurance policy in a few easy ways:
- After getting a quote: The policy document is available once you generate a quote on the Redpoint website.
- In your email: If you save your quote, you’ll receive an email with your quote and policy documents attached.
- Before you buy: You can review the policy on the purchase page for each Redpoint program before completing your purchase.

Am I covered if I get sick or injured, or if a family member gets sick or injured?
Yes, coverage may apply if you, a family member, a traveling companion, or a business partner become sick or injured before your trip and need to cancel or interrupt your plans.
In Section IV the policy states the following:
“Your, a Family Member’s, a Traveling Companion’s or Business Partner’s Sickness or Injury, that:
- occurs before departure on Your Trip;
- is examined and treated by a Physician prior to cancellation unless it is not reasonably possible to do so; and
- as certified by a Physician, results in medical restrictions so disabling as to cause You to cancel Your Trip;
Sickness or Injury of Your Business Partner must be so disabling as to reasonably cause You to cancel Your Trip to assume daily management of the business.

What trip cost should I insure?
You should insure the total amount of your trip that is non-refundable or has cancellation penalties.
This typically includes:
- Payments or deposits you’ve already made
- Any costs you are required to pay if you cancel or interrupt your trip
- Only the amounts you list when you enroll in coverage
A few important notes:
- The cost must be for your trip and not refundable by your travel provider
- Digital currencies (like Bitcoin) are not covered
- Coverage only applies to the amount you choose to insure
If your trip isn’t priced per person (like a shared hotel or rental), the total cost is usually split evenly among all travelers, and you should insure your share.

Can I cover trip costs not booked through my travel provider?
Yes, you can insure any prepaid, non-refundable trip costs, even if they weren’t booked through your travel provider. Just make sure the costs are non-refundable and included when you select your coverage amount.
Can I include my flight cost?
Yes, you can include your flight in your total trip cost.
However, coverage for airfare only applies if:
The airline does not offer a refund or travel credit when you cancel
If your ticket is refundable or eligible for a credit, you generally don’t need to include it in your insured trip costs
Is war covered
Redpoint policies have an exclusion stating “We will not pay for any loss or expense caused by, due to, arising or resulting from…war or act of war, including invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (whether declared or undeclared), or civil war, except as the policy specifically provides otherwise;”

Am I covered if my work revokes approved time off?
Coverage may be available, depending on the details of your policy.
