A Redpoint client fractured her femur aboard a boat off the shore of East Africa. Redpoint was contacted and arranged for her transport via inflatable raft to Assumption Island, near the Tanzanian coast, and a flight from there via fixed-wing aircraft to a world-class hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.

Throughout her transport, she was accompanied by Redpoint paramedics who followed her treatment, and escorted her on every flight, providing medical and travel assistance until she was ultimately home.

There, she was met by Redpoint operations staff dispatched from its Johannesburg office to assist with her care and coordinate communication between Namibian doctors and Stanford-affiliated Redpoint physicians in the U.S.

A scenario that no one likes to consider while making travel arrangements, death while traveling can and does happen. Aside from the trauma surrounding such a loss, the financial costs or preparing and transporting a body regularly amounts to over $10,000.

A 60-year-old woman from Texas died suddenly while visiting New Zealand. Redpoint made arrangements with a local funeral home in New Zealand, the air provider, and her receiving funeral home, all while keeping her family aware of all necessary details.
